2026 Taiwan Society for Mechanobiology Travel Grant Guidelines for Participation in International Academic Conferences
I. Eligibility:
- Applicants must be university students, postdoctoral researchers, research assistants, or medical residents.
- Applicants must be valid members of the Taiwan Society for Mechanobiology (membership status will be verified based on the current paid membership).
- Applicants must be the first author of the submitted conference abstract.
II. Grant Amount and Quota:
Up to 3 recipients will be awarded. Each recipient will receive a certificate and a grant of NT$20,000. Awards will be publicly presented at the annual meeting.
III. Application Procedure:
Applicants must prepare the following materials as a single PDF file and email it to the Society’s official email address: [email protected] by July 31, 2026.
- Completed application form (see attachment).
- Applicant’s CV.
- The abstract of the conference paper to be presented. If available, include proof of submission. The research topic must be related to cellular mechanobiology.
- Information regarding the international academic conference to be attended.
- Manuscripts of submitted or published papers (optional).
- Any other supporting documents that may strengthen the application.
IV. Application Period:
From now until July 31, 2026, at 17:00 (email delivery time). The list of grant recipients will be notified by the Secretariat.
V. Additional Information:
- Award recipients must submit documentation verifying their participation in the international academic conference, including proof of being the first author presenting at the event, and must personally sign a receipt to receive the grant. These documents must be submitted by July 31 of the following year. Late submissions will not be accepted.
- Proof of participation includes abstract acceptance letters, poster files, registration confirmation, and other related materials (such as photos of the applicant presenting a poster or giving an oral presentation). The recipient must contact the Society Secretariat to complete the reimbursement process. Failure to provide the necessary documentation will result in disqualification.
- Grant recipients must acknowledge the support of the Taiwan Society for Mechanobiology (TSMB) on their posters or oral presentation slides.
- Recipients who fail to attend the conference before the grant deadline will be considered to have forfeited the grant.
- Matters not covered by these guidelines will be decided and announced by the Academic Committee of the Society.
